The biggest obstacle that most people face in regards to getting in shape is fighting their own excuses.
It’s easy to say that you just don’t have the time, energy or money to exercise. Instead of focusing on the reasons that you’re not able to work out, concentrate on ways to get past the excuses.
I’m Too Tired
Believe it or not, not working out could be the reason for the fatigue you claim is keeping you from the gym. According to WebMD, workouts can give you more energy and help you get through the day by improving your circulation and releasing those feel-good endorphins.
If you’re finding it hard to go exercise after a long day at the office, you may want to change the time of day you work out. Consider heading to the gym in the morning before you go to work in order to combat late afternoon fatigue.
I Don’t Have Enough Time
Even the busiest of people can spare some time to exercise. For an effective fitness routine, you only need a mere twenty minutes of time to work out each day.
Shape Magazine suggests working out at home if you’re feeling a time crunch or you’re not in the mood to go to the gym. You can use a workout DVD to follow along with or you can simply get outside and exercise. This could mean taking the dog for a jog or biking around your neighborhood.
I Hate to Exercise
The thought of exercising may make you break out in hives. Over time, you might have convinced yourself that you absolutely hate exercising and you can’t find any enjoyment while breaking a sweat. The problem may be that you’re just doing the wrong type of exercise.
For instance, the idea of running on a treadmill for 30 minutes may sound completely boring. Instead, pick a sport you’re interested in and give it a try. You may find that you develop a real love for tennis or basketball. Themed aerobic classes such as Zumba can also be fun for people who normally hate to work out.
So quit the excuses. Start your new healthier lifestyle today by making time to exercise.
