As you go about setting up your Paleo diet plan, you need to consider the types of food that you’re putting into your body on a daily basis. It’s about more than taking in the right number of calories and focusing on plenty of lean proteins, fruits, and vegetables.
A key component that makes the plan successful is that elimination of all processed carbs from your diet and feasting instead on plenty of healthy fats. Here’s why:
Healthy fats will help to control your hunger level, making it easier to consume fewer calories and maintain a healthy weight. Processed carbs, on the other hand, tend to increase hunger, so will just make it harder to stick with your plan. Add healthy fats and you should have no issue sticking to your reduced calorie diet.
Insulin is produced in the body after eating simple carbs. It sucks all that glucose up and sends it into storage. This significantly increases your chances for fat gain, which can be problematic down the road. Healthy fats have no impact on insulin levels, so they are ideal for helping you keep your levels down.

In particular, omega fats are an essential nutrient in your body needs and an absolute requirement of a Paleo diet. Healthy fats are also required for other fat-soluble vitamins to be absorbed in the body and they ensure that you don’t suffer from a deficiency in those either.
As you can see, the benefits to consuming healthy fats are numerous, while there are virtually no benefits to be gained from processed carbohydrates. Make the switch in your diet plan and you will be far better off for it.
